On the Venue for this tablet review article is pure, cutting edge technology! I am talking about all the cutting edge technology packed nicely inside the new Dell Venue 8 7000 Android based tablet, which just happens to be the worlds thinnest tablet PC at the time this article was published. It might be hard for many people to believe that Dell would be in this position, given that they really haven’t gone all out in the tablet market as of late, but rest assured that this is one awesome tablet that has many awesome cutting edge technology features packed inside the worlds thinnest tablet PC.
Recently at the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2015 in Las Vegas, Dell made a huge splash on the tablet PC scene with their new Dell Venue 8 7000 Android based tablet. This was a big hit at the CES and even won the prestigious “Best of Innovation” award for the Venue 8 7000 tablet. Dell has never went all out into the tablet market in the past but with the new Venue 8 7000, Dell pulled out all the stops and loaded it with lots of new and innovative technology features.
The new Dell Venue 8 7000 is the worlds thinnest tablet PC at just 6mm, even slimmer than the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4. It weighs in at just 10.7 ounces, about 2/3 of what the Apple iPad Air 2 weighs. It has a rich 8.4 inch OLED display with a resolution of 2560×1600 and 359ppi. That is the same display screen size as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4. It has an exotic Intel Atom Z3580 Quad-Core processor running at 2.3GHz. It is equipped with dual-band 802.11 ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and even has GPS built into this sweet new tablet.
The new Venue 8 7000 runs on Android 4.4 KitKat but Dell has an Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade coming up soon. The new Venue 8 7000 comes with 16GB of built-in storage and it has a Micro SD slot that you can add up to 512GB (Yes, I said 512GB) of additional storage, so finding room for apps will NOT be a problem for this new tablet.
As for the new Dell Venue 8 7000’s camera feature, Dell made sure to put some cutting edge technology in the tablet for this feature. The Venue 8 7000 features an Intel RealSense 3D camera set to produce some real nice looking pictures and videos. The video feature of the Venue 8 7000 creates 1080p videos so videos look very good as well.
Dell has definitely decided to make a big splash in the tablet market with their new Venue 8 7000 Android based tablet. They loaded it with all kinds of great technology features to help them show that they are serious about producing a great tablet that will make it’s mark in the tablet market. Dell is looking to give the big players like Apple with it’s iPad tablets and Samsung with it’s Galaxy line of tablets a run for their money and they are hoping to grab up their share of the tablet market. Introducing their new Venue 8 7000 tablet shows that Dell is moving forward and looks to be a major player in the tablet PC market. Will the Venue 8 7000 be the first of many new high quality, technology packed tablets by Dell? I sure hope so, but time will tell if this is a one time thing or if they are going to continue to be serious about the tablet market.
