You read that right, the Apple iPhone 6 has a case of the bends. Meaning that apparently the Apple iPhone 6, especially the Apple iPhone 6 Plus has a design flaw in having a weak structure causing these new Apple iPhones (iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus) to bend easily.
Reports have started to surface around the internet that users of the new Apple iPhone 6 models are experiencing their iPhone bending easily from normal use and storage, especially when being kept in a users pocket for hours. The majority of the bending iPhone complaints have been from owners of the new Apple iPhone 6 Plus model.
In a report, a reporter from The Next Web asked an Apple support rep if these bent iPhone 6’s will be covered by Apple’s warranty. The Apple rep said “That is 100 percent up to the genius you speak to at the store. There is a test called a Visual Mechanical Inspection that the device will have to pass. If it is within the guidelines, they will be able to cover it. If not, the replacement will be a paid one.”
The Apple iPhone warranty covers failures caused solely by “manufacturing defects” and not “catastrophic damage caused by abuse and interoperability caused by installation of unauthorized software”. So going by what the Apple rep has said, it will be up to the Apple genius at the store you take your damaged iPhone 6 to determine if it is a manufacturing defect and covered by the Apple iPhone Warranty.
So until Apple decides how to handle the Apple iPhone 6’s bending issue it would be wise to take extra special care of your new Apple iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus and possibly storing it in a well protected case for added protection. Carrying your new iPhone 6 around in your back pocket unprotected would not be advised. Hopefully Apple will do something about this issue soon so iPhone users can worry about other things instead of worrying if they are going to bend their new eGeek toy!
